My name is Melissa, and I am a personal trainer and functional wellness coach who helps women 35+ struggling with fatigue, mood swings, stubborn weight & unpredictable cycles to slow down, prioritize themselves and their health — so they can feel better than they have in years. As a woman in your 40s, your body is changing. Hormones are starting to decline, so you need a different approach to feel your best - a personalized, functional health approach.

I will help you discover and learn why 
exercise combined with the power of lifestyle, behavior, and nutrition consultation creates a fitness plan that is tailored to YOUR unique life. It is the perfect way to achieve your fitness and wellness goals.
 
I use a whole-body, functional approach to wellness coupled with individualized personal fitness training to optimize your health and overcome barriers so you can live a vibrant life. 

Your fitness and wellness journey includes education and self-reflection.  As fitness and lifestyle habits need to align for the best results, you will benefit from the personalized attention I give to help you enjoy investing in your exercise and health.
 
We will work together to create a plan based on your abilities, schedule, needs, and goals. In addition, I will provide practical advice and encouragement, based on my years of education and experience, sending your program every week using the CoachRx app.

Together we will develop a customized action plan from the ground up based on fitness, nutrition, restorative lifestyle strategies,  your environment, and more to reclaim your energy, vitality, and overall wellbeing.

I'm based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where I offer in-person personal training at Blueprint Fitness.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine aims to identify and address the root cause of chronic symptoms or disease, illness, or imbalance by rebalancing the body and reversing the manifestations of disease. Functional medicine asks the question "Why is this person experiencing dis-ease and dysfunction?" It looks past the diagnosis and works to find the underlying causes of how and why disease is manifesting in the body. When you focus on the why or the cause, you get true healing rather than symptom management with continued disease progression. The key is to remove the factors that create imbalance and harm to the body, maximize what the body needs to function and heal, and prioritize an environment of healing for each unique person. This functional medicine framework is truly a personalized, integrative, and health-centered approach. Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with each patient or client, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among environmental, genetic, nutritional, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique presentation of health and vitality for each individual.
